Nambour Community Garden-a real possibility
A community meeting will now be held on
Wednesday 20th October
at the
CWA Hall, Short Street, Nambour
at 7:00pm
Transition Town Nambour will be facilitating this meeting to help enable the project to become self propelling. Transition Town Nambour is a grass roots community group who are interested in supporting any positive action that helps mitigate the effects of Climate Change and Peak Oil (surging oil prices) on our community and which helps to knit community together.
A Community Garden has long been a desirable outcome for our hope to see Nambour much more self-reliant and self-sufficient. Community Gardens are brilliant 'whole community projects' and can really bring people of all ages and interests together for social network building and for teaching self-reliance skills.
The purpose of this meeting is to follow up the previous Transition meeting on 22nd September at while a slide presentation was made by Sharon Stott of Council and Penny Hegarty of the Nambour Gardening Club. A parcel of land which has recently been purchased by Council is to be made available to the community for a Community Garden. Such a project has been long sought after in Nambour and this is an opportunity to be seized.
Please bring your family, friends, and neighbours to show support.

See you there.....7pm on Wednesday 20th October at the CWA Hall, Short Street Nambour.
And don't forget the following Wednesday we have our talk on "Building Better Communities", same time, same place.
